The commission for the measurement of the territory of the Republic of Kosovo, says that in the framework of its work, it has secured three maps made by KFOR in 2001, and on February 13 and 14, this commission made two field visits with purpose of verifying the coverage of the territory of the Republic of Kosovo with administrative documentation.
This is what the spokesperson of this commission, Tomor Çela, told KosovaPress. He added that the work of this commission is at the end of the analytical phase of the documentation.
"The commission for measuring the territory continues its work with the same dynamics. We also received some materials from the representative of FSHMN, and we secured 3 maps made by KFOR, in 2001. Of course, there will be digital measurements of all cadastral areas and administrative municipalities", he said.
Otherwise, the committee of experts for the measurement of the territory of the Republic of Kosovo held its next meeting on Thursday, where the materials and findings from the field were presented regarding the verification of the segments and points that prove the coverage with administrative and cartographic documentation.
"On February 21, 2017, at 10:00 a.m., in the premises of the Government of the Republic of Kosovo building, the commission will present the draft report of its work, with all materials and results. Before drafting the final report for the Government of the Republic, which has established the Commission of experts to measure the territory of the Republic, the Commission will offer to the public for public discussion all the documentation and professional, scientific and managerial findings related to the territorial size of Kosovo. The Commission welcomes any evidence, remarks and suggestions based on professional and scientific facts. The public discussion will last from February 21-24, 2017, from 10:00-15:00 in the Government building. How Kosovo demarcated the border with Montenegro remains one of the most controversial issues in the country. On the other hand, the heads of state have increased the pressure, saying that Kosovars continue to remain isolated in Europe precisely because of the non-approval of the demarcation.
