The Coalition of NGOs for the Protection of Children (KOMF) has called for responsibility and protection of children after a lifeless baby was found in a black bag near a garbage dump in Pristina.
According to KOMF, this event is a serious alarm, therefore it has been requested by the institutions responsible for the placement and protection of children.
This coalition has called for a full, swift and transparent investigation to clarify the circumstances of this case.
"We call for an assessment of the functioning of preventive mechanisms for identifying and supporting mothers in difficult social or psychological situations, especially young mothers who may be unsupported and uninformed about the help they can receive. Strengthening preventive measures, through the provision of psychosocial services, parenting programs, mental health support and awareness campaigns that promote the dignity and life of every child. Immediate commitment of social protection, health and justice institutions to ensure that no similar case is repeated," the reaction states.
The Prosecutor's Office has announced that all investigative measures and actions are being taken regarding this matter.
