The Council for the Protection of Human Rights and Freedoms (KMDLNJ), through a statement sent to the media, announced that they visited the deputy of the Social Democratic Initiative, Milaim Zeka, in the Detention Center in Pristina.
Zeka was arrested today after the Basic Prosecutor's Office in Pristina issued an arrest warrant against him, due to suspicions that he threatened the special prosecutor, Afrim Shefkiu.

KMDLNj visited MP Milaim Zeka at the Detention Center in Pristina
KMDLNj monitors - visited MP Milaim Zeka in the Detention Center in Pristina. The same person confirmed to KMDLNj that he was invited by phone a day earlier to go to the police station and was informed about the reason for the call. On 26.09.2018, at 09:00, he voluntarily presented himself at the police station. There he was interrogated by two police investigators and all procedures were followed in accordance with the law, said Mr. Zeka.
According to him, the prosecution had no reason to detain him because, according to him, he was detained because of his statement on T7 television, where he said: "The visa case was rigged for me by Hashim Thaçi, Kadri Veseli and Aleksandër Lumezi. And with the prosecutor Afrim Shefkiu, I will solve the case according to the law, according to the canon and personally". This statement, according to Mr. Zeka has been misunderstood, because he claimed that this statement consists in solving the problem by law, according to the canon in doing "be" and in the personal one by opening private lawsuits against the apostrophized. According to deputy Zeka, his detention is a political cigar and has nothing to do with the justification given by the prosecution, for threats.

During his stay at the Detention Center, he was informed of all the rights that belong to him and he stated that there is no objection to the behavior of the uniformed staff, nor the policemen who transported him, nor those of the Detention Center. He affirmed that during his statement before the investigating policemen, he signed the report at the end but did not receive a copy of it. He was shown the restraining order. KMDLNj finds that during the arrest, interrogation and detention in the Detention Center, to Mr. Zeka, the rights foreseen for persons deprived of their liberty have been respected.
