Commenting on the recent clashes with the mayor of Pristina, Përparim Rama, the elected MP of the Vetëvendosje Movement, Ilir Kërçeli, said that this party "cannot make Rama the leader of the LDK."
On the "tre8tre" show on KTV, Kërçeli said that the recently started clash was "a blow below the belt from Rama."
Rama and VV actors clashed on Monday after the mayor of Pristina accused the government of negligence in the case of a fatal accident on a highway the day before. Kërçeli said that there is still no official report and that Rama's accusations are for "political points."
"Rama should tell us where this zeal to react or accuse comes from after a weekend he had in Brezovica with the PDK. He should show whether these statements were ordered by the PDK to create a bad atmosphere on the eve of the end of the vote counting because accusing at this stage immediately after the long weekend in Brezovica with the PDK is not fair at all. It is good for Mr. Rama to deal with the capital and projects that are not in sight, neither the beginning nor the end, which he has promised him", said Kërçeli. "Rama should know that we cannot elect him as the leader of the LDK. If he has this ambition, it is good for him to show it to his subject and go there and run for the leader of the LDK, but not like this by attacking without basis and with empty accusations to achieve what he has the ambition of, namely to become the leader of the LDK".
Kërçeli also said that in his view, Rama does not have good relations with the leader of the LDK, Lumir Abdixhiku.

"As far as I can read from the lines, Rama does not have good relations with the LDK leader. He has not participated in any campaign organization in Pristina with the LDK leader. If they have ruined this relationship due to narrow interests, they should declare themselves and tell the citizens what that interest was. To show what happened to the head of Termokos that he was expelled from the LDK. I think that's where their problem started. So Rama should not blame the citizens of Pristina for the bargains he has with the LDK leader, it is better for him to show that if he has ambitions for LDK leader, let him run... we cannot provide him with votes," said Kërçeli.
Kërçeli further said that he does not believe that Rama's accusations could affect the potential atmosphere for negotiations with the LDK for the future.
"I don't think this situation can hinder, but it's good that LDK officials are not victimized. They kept us blocked for 9 months, supposedly for a statement made on election day, but they are constantly making such accusations, insults and insults, and yet VV is inviting them to cooperate for the sake of the citizens of Kosovo," added Kërçeli.
A day earlier, Rama criticized the Kosovo Government after the tragic accident on the highway and the decision to allocate 4.67 million euros for the removal of soil from a segment of it. Through a public reaction, Rama said that citizens are paying the price “with their lives and taxes,” accusing the central government of negligence and delayed response to the problem.
After this, the Minister of Infrastructure and other VV actors reacted.
Rama himself has said that he is not a member of LDK, but he has won two elections in the capital under the banner of this party.
Kërçeli secured a seat in the new legislature by coming 13th on the Vetëvendosje list. He said that VV is the "absolute winner" in the June 7 elections.
According to him, the situation is the same as before the June elections.

He said that VV will convene its Presidency once the results are certified to decide on the issue of potential cooperation with other parties to elect the Government and the President. However, he said that according to the numbers, VV could once again form the Government alone.
