The Kosovo Energy Corporation has responded to the protest of workers who have requested salaries from 1.100 euros.
In the protest held today, the workers stated that "the new Union of the Kosovo Energy Corporation knows that the average basic salary is 750 euros", but according to them, the CEO of KEK has declared a salary of over 1.000 euros. According to the workers, the real salaries are much lower than those presented by the CEO.
In an email sent to the media, KEK presented a table stating that the average gross salary of an employee in 2025 is 1,226.60, while the average net salary is 1,080.12 euros.

For years, KEK has offered important benefits to employees, including health insurance, transportation, dignified meals, jubilee payments, work experience payments, linear salary increases and annual bonuses," the announcement states.
