The Kosovo Energy Corporation has announced that a task force will be formed, which will also include external experts in the field, which will be tasked with conducting a complete review of existing protocols, procedures, standards and mechanisms related to occupational safety and health.
The Board of Directors and Management of KEK held an extraordinary meeting on Thursday, after another KEK employee lost his life at work. He is the second KEK employee to die at work in three days, and the fourth within a year.
"Within the framework of concrete measures, the Board has requested that the roles, responsibilities and accountability of each level involved in occupational safety processes be addressed responsibly. In this regard, KEK Sh.A. will form a Task Force for Industrial Safety and Occupational Health, which will also include external experts in the field. The Task Force will be tasked with conducting a complete review of existing protocols, procedures, standards and mechanisms related to occupational safety and health, in order to identify any deficiencies and take concrete measures to improve them. Also, the assessment of the risk of workplaces has been contracted during this year and is currently in the implementation phase. The results of this process will also serve as one of the bases for undertaking further measures to eliminate and reduce risks in workplaces," the announcement of the Board of Directors and Management of KEK states.
The Board has announced that in the coming days, concrete steps and measures that will be taken to strengthen safety at work will be announced.
"The Board and Management remain committed to ensuring that the safety and health of employees are the Corporation's absolute priority. No operational or production objective can be above the safety and lives of employees. In the coming days, we will inform you about the concrete steps and measures that will be taken to strengthen industrial safety and health at work."
