The Kosovo Democratic Institute (KDI) has asked the president to provide clarity on the process of appointing the second prime minister to form the government.

KDI has said that it is essential that all of the president's steps be transparent and reasonable.

"KDI assesses that in order to ensure the integrity and credibility of this process, it is essential that all steps of the President be transparent and reasonable, including the prior publication of the prevailing criteria that will guide the assessment of the "greatest likelihood of forming a majority", as well as the clarification of the form through which support in the Assembly will be sought and verified," the Institute's press release states.

KDI further added that these criteria are substantial guarantees of impartiality and respect for the constitutional order.

"Therefore, transparency regarding the same is of paramount importance to maintain public confidence in the democratic and constitutional functioning of institutions."
