The head of the Guxo List branch in Deçan, Rabije Haklaj, announced that she has resigned from her position along with the branch leadership, withdrawing from all party structures, at a meeting held on March 8.
In a post on Facebook, Haklaj said that the decision was made unanimously by the branch leadership and is related to recent developments surrounding the issue of the re-election of President Vjosa Osmani.
According to her, the Guxo branch in Deçan is disappointed by the stance of the coalition partner, the Vetëvendosje Movement, in not supporting Osmani for a second term as president. She emphasized that, according to them, there was a political commitment for Osmani to continue in this post.
Haklaj also criticized the leaders of the Guxo List, saying that the party structures were not consulted on the position on this issue and that the decision was learned through the media.
She announced that with this decision, the Guxo branch in Decani ceases all functions and activities within the party, adding that politically they will continue to stand by President Osmani.
This resignation follows that of MP Haxhi Avdyli, who a few days ago resigned from the Guxo List after, as he said, the launch of a lynching campaign against Osmani.
