The director of Tetova Hospital, Florin Besimi, resigned on Friday afternoon.
Besimi wrote on his Facebook account that his resignation is because he feels moral responsibility from the tragic event in the modular hospital of Tetova, where many people lost their lives as a result of the fire explosion.
Dear Sirs, with unquenchable pain for each victim and each of their family members, I inform you that due to this moral responsibility that I feel, I am resigning from the position of director of the Clinical Hospital in Tetovo. After such a tragic and unfortunate event, this decision is inevitable. At the same time, I hope that the full investigation will be completed as soon as possible and the reasons for the fire in the modular Center of the Tetova Clinic for patients with Covid-19 will be clarified. My resignation will not console the families, but I believe that I will establish a moral line that all of us as a society have forgotten", wrote Besimi.
The economic director of Tetova Hospital, Artan Etemi, also resigned.
As a result of the fire at the modular hospital in Tetova on Wednesday evening, 14 people died and 17 others were injured.
