The Chairman of the United Union of Education, Science and Culture (SBASHK), Rrahman Jasharaj, said that the budget issue has also concerned teachers, who fear that they may be left without salaries in the absence of the 2026 Budget.
He said that without established institutions, the Union has nowhere to address its demands.
"The demands have increased, but we have nowhere to address them since we have no government and the biggest problem is that there is no one to vote on the law on salaries for 2026 and in these situations, the concern has increased that people are being left without salaries, which would be a big problem because more than 84 thousand public sector workers, and of those 30 thousand and more education workers, if due to the games that someone in politics plays, our workers are left without salaries next year," Jasharaj declared.
In an interview with Ekonomia Online, Jasharaj called it ironic that the incumbent prime minister promised a 13th month salary, while according to him, he did not allocate 100 euros for teachers.
"That promise for the 13th salary with the 2026 salary law seems ironic. I begged Kurti both as a brother and as prime minister to give us those 100 euros, and he didn't give us any, so how can we expect now that he will give us a 13th salary. It is a much larger salary than the 100 we asked for. We are all left with question marks," he added.
