Istog and Klina with a joint project for garbage dumps

The actions carried out in the past months for the removal of landfills without permission in the municipalities of Istog Klinë, have not raised the awareness of the citizens to the extent that was hoped.

Although most of the landfills without permission have been removed, meanwhile other landfills have appeared and according to municipal officials, this phenomenon continues to reflect the level of awareness and poor care of the population towards the environment. In both municipalities this year, 130 landfills without permission were identified, 80 of them in Istog and the rest in Klina. More than 20 euros have been spent by the municipalities in an effort to remove all illegal landfills and rehabilitate the locations where they were, Koha Ditore writes today.

However, as they say in these municipalities, irresponsible citizens continue to throw different types of waste in unauthorized places. There are no citizens fined for dumping waste in landfills without permission, on the grounds that they are not able to identify the polluters. "We have problems with illegal dumps in Istog. Garbage has been removed in many places and the places where there were illegal dumps have been cleaned very well.
