Inspector Jashari: We have received complaints about the price increase of confectionery products

The Central Market Surveillance Inspectorate has been on the ground in recent days to see if the prices are realistic from economic operators on the eve of the Eid al-Fitr holiday.

Inspector Xhemajl Jashari said on the "tre8tre" show on KTV that there has been an increase in complaints from consumers about price increases for products used to prepare sweets. Jashari also stated that punitive measures have been imposed against them.

"Purchases are more frequent and in accordance with the law, our visits and inspections are also increased. There is an increase in the number of consumer complaints but the inspectorate acts quickly. There are also price increases but we are monitoring them. Now that we are on the eve of the Eid al-Fitr holiday, the products that are sold the most, in this case the products with which sweets are prepared, there are complaints against them but also the handling of complaints and punitive measures," said Jashari.

Jashari said that during these actions, the focus is on matching the price of the product on the shelves with that at the cash register where the consumer pays.

"Based on the work plan, the inspection is continuing today with increased work intensity. Our focus is on verifying prices, flags of origin and product classification. Today, in this operator where we are, we will verify the price of the product based on what it has displayed and the cash register where the consumer pays," said Jashari.

The Central Market Surveillance Inspectorate announced that the inspection is being carried out throughout the territory of Kosovo.
