The National Institute of Public Health of Kosovo (IKSHPK) has announced that from Monday the water in the service area of KRU "Prishtina" and KRU "Mitrovica" can be used for drinking.

In the announcement issued by IKSHPK, it is stated that since November 29, when the attack on the Ibër-Lepenci canal took place, the monitoring of drinking water has been strengthened in the treatment plants in Shipol, Balincë, Drenas and Shkabaj, where until two days ago restrictions have been applied to the distribution networks of these two companies as a result of the actions taken to remedy the situation in the channel.

"Water from today (09.12.2024) can be used for drinking. IKSHPK recommends to KRU "Mitrovica" and KRU "Prishtina" to continue the supervision and treatment of water and to provide water in quantity and quality, according to the standards for drinking water based on UA 10/2021 "Quality of Water intended for human consumption'", the announcement states.

IKSHPK has further appealed to the citizens to refer only to the official information of IKSHPK and the relevant KRU.
