This was announced by the acting Minister of Interior, Xhelal Sveçla.
In a video posted on Facebook to his compatriots, he said that the Law brings faster and easier procedures for obtaining citizenship.
"One of the main facilitations is the regaining of citizenship for you compatriots, who for objective reasons were forced to be released from the citizenship of the Republic of Kosovo, from 9 documents that were previously required, now the completed application by you and the proof that you have not been convicted of a criminal offense by a final decision in the country where you live are sufficient," said Sveçla.
He said that the application can now be made online through the e-Kosova platform and that the deadline for reviewing the request has been shortened from 6 months to 30 days.
