Hoxha: VV is not behaving like a politically mature party

Erblin Hoxha, an expert on political issues, said that the harsh language used during the election campaign by party leaders towards each other has now prevented the parties from reaching a compromise.

While speaking about the blockade in the Kosovo Assembly, where for the third time the Vetevendosje Movement's candidate for speaker of parliament failed to be voted in, Hoxha added that opposition parties should offer conditions in addition to the request for a name change proposed by the Vetevendosje Movement.

"I understand that the opposition parties will oppose it, I don't understand that I have to change the name or anything else, but it's strange that there are no conditions from the opposition parties beyond setting a name. There are conditions that are not necessarily related to a name, but to some legislative initiatives," he said in "Interaktiv".

Hoxha said that the LVV is not behaving like a politically mature party by not changing its approach. As he said, the parties are playing among themselves to see "who is showing himself to be stronger, more patient and who has the strongest nerves, while the other one is breaking."

"The winning party, the Vetevendosje Movement, is not able to behave like a politically mature and sensible political party. You have the MPs and you have to come up with a solution. What is it? We have a party that is saying that if you propose another candidate, we will vote for him, and you see if it is important for the citizens to have a female speaker like Haxhiu. Or another one that offers a longer-term solution."
