He said that citizens are paying the price for this government's failure in the dark.

He added that no one can hide behind technical notices when the responsibility is political.
"It is unacceptable that in 2026 citizens and businesses face power outages due to the failures of those who had power and the budget in their hands. No one can hide behind technical announcements, when the responsibility is political and direct," Hoti wrote.
According to him, energy is not a luxury, it is a fundamental right.
Hoti has stated that any reduction is clear evidence of mismanagement, lack of vision and negligence towards the public interest.
"Citizens are paying the price for this government's failure with darkness, economic damage, and uncertainty," he wrote.
A day ago, the Electricity System, Transmission and Market Operator (KOSTT) announced that it is forced to apply power reductions due to network overload. According to KOSTT, this is due to the difference between nominations and real consumption in recent days. The deviations have increased the risk to stability and may bring punitive measures against KOSTT from the European network.
Meanwhile, on Wednesday, the Kosovo Electricity Supply Company (KESCO) said that the system is facing an extraordinary situation, as a result of increased consumption.
Due to increased consumption, according to KESCO, capacity cannot be fully covered by local production and about 50 percent of energy is being provided through imports.
On the other side The Kosovo Chamber of Commerce and Industry has requested urgent intervention to stabilize the energy supply for businesses.
The announcement issued by DHTIK states that the worsening electricity supply situation is causing serious losses for hundreds of businesses in the country.
