According to the spokesperson at the Ministry of Health, Faik Hoti, the situation with COVID-19 in the country is serious. He says that the measures taken by the government in this time of pandemic should be reviewed once again, after the increase in the number of infected and victims.
"In Kosovo, the situation regarding COVID-19 reflects to be very serious, with a load of hospital capacities, with a high number of those who are positive for COVID, with a forecast that we will have figures for a long time such, that must be managed. They will request a review of the measures and see what the effects of the measures taken so far have been. The number of positive cases is still a concern, and for us, the number of those that end in fatality is a concern," Hoti told Euronews Albania, KosovaPress reports.
Hoti underlined that the influx of infected people in hospitals has been handled so far.
"If we are correct, we have predicted that at this time there will be an increase in positive cases. So far we have coped with the influx, with all the burdens. About 1/3 of the cases are treated at the University Clinical Center and its clinics, while 2/3 are treated at the 7 regional hospitals. We have a busy situation, but so far it has been managed", declared Hoti.
