Haxhiu says that with the Law on the KPK, clan groups will be eliminated

The Minister of Justice, Albulena Haxhiu, has through the voting of the Law on the Prosecutorial Council of Kosovo (KPK) will enable the reorganization of this institution, mentioning the elimination of corporatism and clan groups in the Council.

Haxhiu said that now there will be an increase in accountability, integrity and professionalism in the system.

"After a marathon accompanied by quite a few challenges and obstacles, the new version of the amendments to the Law on the Prosecutorial Council of Kosovo is finally voted on. The long-awaited reform will re-organize the Prosecutorial Council - with the elimination of corporatism and clan groups in the Council, and with an increase in accountability, integrity and professionalism in the system", said Minister Haxhiu, saying that the changes in the second reading in the Assembly were made in full accordance with the recommendations of the Venice Commission.

Haxhiu has expressed that she remains committed to the reform path "for an accountable and professional system".

"We remain committed and engaged in our reforming path, for an accountable and professional system, reliable and uninfluenced, accessible to all citizens", she added.
