Acting President Albulena Haxhiu has said that the Central Election Commission can function even without the last member, who is being sought by two parties.

The Vetëvendosje Movement has requested its third member to the CEC, while the Democratic Party has requested its second. Former President Vjosa Osmani had not completed the composition.

And Haxhiu has said that he will act "when he considers that he must act."

"I am interested in whether this poses a problem for the CEC. Yesterday I heard that they said that the electoral process will be contested and so on because of one member, but I have announced that I have two requests from PDK and VV to appoint their members as the last member of the Commission. I have had a position before, political power, proportionality, representation are principles that no one should deny. Since all deadlines have passed, because I think that a process that was started by Osmani should have been concluded by her herself. All deadlines have passed, I am in her treatment and I will act responsibly, but let's be sure that with 10 members nothing is at risk, neither the certification of the parties nor the results nor the others. I will act when I consider that I must act", she said as she invited "the dissatisfied to address the Constitutional Court".
