The acting President of Kosovo, Albulena Haxhiu, has asked law enforcement agencies and responsible institutions to act immediately, after the acting Deputy Minister of Finance, Hysni Mehani, and the head of the Vetëvendosje Movement Center in Skenderaj, Bahri Zabeli, were attacked in Skenderaj.
"Physical violence in public life is a direct violation of the security of citizens, of the freedom of political action and of democratic culture itself. The public mandate is not a refuge for arrogance, nor a shield for physical force against a political opponent. I call on the law enforcement agencies and responsible institutions to act immediately, with professionalism and without any hesitation, so that every person involved faces justice and is held accountable before the law. I wish Hysni Mehani a speedy recovery and a speedy return to his public engagements. I call on his family, collaborators and citizens to exercise restraint, calm and trust in the institutions of the Republic", Haxhiu wrote on Facebook.

Letter to the Reader — Why We're Asking for Your Support ContributeThe acting Minister of Justice, Donika Gërvalla-Schwarz, has also reacted to the attack.
She said that the perpetrators of the attack must face justice without any delay.
"We know such attacks and attackers well. They aim for the election campaign to be accompanied by violence, intimidation and the logic of force, which have no place in our Republic. These are primitive methods of political battle of those who see the state as private property and the rule of law and the state of law as injustice and provocation. I expect the institutions of order to react immediately and without compromise. The perpetrators of the attack must face justice without any delay. This Republic and this state are not subject to violence. Period," Gërvalla wrote on Facebook.
