The acting president of Kosovo, Albulena Haxhiu, has said that regarding the appointment of the last member of the Central Election Commission, she will act in accordance with her responsibilities, reports Ekonomia Online.
She added that since all deadlines for appointing a member have passed, she will treat this issue seriously.
Haxhiu has stated that it is important for him to respect the power of political entities that the citizens of Kosovo have given them.
"As for the Central Election Commission, there are currently ten members in the CEC, in total there are 11 members. Given that all deadlines for appointing even one member have passed, I will treat this issue with the utmost seriousness. It was important for me to understand whether the CEC will be blocked if it does not have one member, I have received information that nothing is at risk from this situation, therefore I will act in accordance with my responsibilities when I consider that I must act. I have two requests, one from VV and the other from PDK, but you know that my opinion on this is now and for a while, not from the moment I took office... I do not know if there will be, we will see if there will be, but what is important for me is to respect the power of political entities that the citizens of Kosovo have given them, so power, proportionality, representation, I believe that they are very important", she said.
