Acting President of Kosovo Albulena Haxhiu has authorized the deployment of the Kosovo Security Force (KSF) to an international peacekeeping operation, as part of the International Stabilization Force in Gaza.
The Presidency's announcement states that Haxhiu assessed that this decision reflects a Kosovo that understands security as an obligation towards its citizens and as a responsibility towards peace and international order.
She further said that from a country that once needed the support of others, Kosovo today takes responsibility and contributes to the international scene.
"The Kosovo Security Force is an institution built with professionalism and high standards, ready to serve alongside our strategic partners. Participation in such missions proves the state maturity of our Republic and the place that Kosovo is strengthening every day in the international arena," Haxhiu is quoted as saying.
In a session held on Friday, the Kosovo Assembly decided to send the Kosovo Security Force abroad, as part of the International Stabilization Force in Gaza.
The decision passed with 89 votes in favor, none against, and no abstentions.

The KSF will maintain peace in Gaza with its own weapons
Minister of Defense, Ejup Maqedonci, has said that sending Kosovo soldiers to such operations creates trust in international allies.
"The deployment of the KSF in this mission includes the participation of KSF personnel within the unified command of the international stabilization force, whose mission is to support the implementation of the comprehensive plan to end the conflict in Gaza, always based on the mandate of the international stabilization force," he said during the review of the decision in the plenary session.
