The Mayor of the Municipality of Prizren, Mytaher Haskuka, has dismissed the director of the Municipal Directorate of Education in Prizren, Gani Gërmizaj.
As Haskuka informs, the decision to dismiss him was made due to irregularities in the establishment of commissions for open competitions at this directorate.
"The interview commissions, established by the decision of the director, were not in accordance with the law because, according to the law on pre-university education and administrative guidance, among other things, one of the members in the selection commissions must be the director of the respective school. This is the legal interpretation from the Directorate of the Inspectorate of Education and the Legal Department at the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, from whom I requested a legal interpretation, as a result of the many complaints I received regarding the last competitions", stated Haskuka.
He says that he asked the director to respect the rules that originate from the laws, so that there is a fair and legal process in the selection of teachers.
"Despite my request, he did not take this action, so I regretfully had to take the last measure, his dismissal", says the mayor of Prizren.
"The education system we inherited was in a bad state, which requires a lot of commitment and work from all actors in order to offer our children quality education. Therefore, I will soon request the formation of new commissions, in order to have a real process in the selection of teachers", concluded Haskuka./KsP.
