Haradinaj: The Law on Government will regulate the number of ministries and deputy ministers

The Prime Minister of Kosovo, Ramush Haradinaj, participated today in the meeting of the Governmental Commission for the Drafting of the Draft Law for the Government, in which case he said that this law will regulate the number of elected political representatives and the way of dividing responsibilities.

According to Haradinaj, this is probably the most important law within the state reform.

Among other things, Prime Minister Haradinaj emphasized that in Kosovo a tradition and a recognition for governance has been created and that now everyone knows and lessons have been learned on how to proceed with governance in the country.

"I am encouraged by the work that the commission has done and I believe that they will give Kosovo perhaps the best Law for the Government, in this case that the region has," he said. "With this law, we do not just mechanically reduce the number of elected officials, but we take a much further step, that is, we specify the responsibility of each one, the way of taking responsibility, the way of implementation, reporting, we think that we do not leave vacuums in terms of governance".

Besnik Tahiri, National Coordinator for State Reforms, on the other hand, said that the law deals with the number of deputy ministers, ministries and deputy prime ministers, the responsibilities that all resources have and in this direction, according to him, they have good political consultation with civil society and with other actors, "because this is the most vital Law, the foundation of State Administration".
