The leader of the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo, Ramush Haradinaj, has criticized the Minister of Environment, Fitore Pacolli, for the decision that prohibits any type of construction activity without a permit in the National Parks, consequently prohibiting the circulation of all vehicles carrying construction materials, heavy equipment and specialized construction machinery.
Haradinaj said that Pacolli's decision shows the current government's disconnect from the reality of Kosovo's citizens. He added that instead of Bjeshkët e Nemuna being supported with investments in roads and sustainable development, it is now facing decisions that risk isolating it and stifling any development opportunities.

Without knowing the terrain, without understanding the lives of the people who live there and without feeling their difficulties, decisions are being made that directly affect families, villages and the local economy. Rugova and Bjeshkët e Nemuna are not simply a natural area on the map, they are inhabited areas with 13 villages, where people live, build, work and try to develop their economy in already difficult infrastructural conditions," Haradinaj wrote on Facebook.
Pacolli had taken the decision days before, strictly prohibiting any type of construction activity without a permit within the “Bjeshkët e Nemuna” and “Sharri” National Parks in Kosovo. This decision prohibits the circulation of all means of transport carrying construction material, heavy equipment and specialized construction machinery, within the areas of the National Parks in the Republic of Kosovo, without a special permit or authorization issued by the MESP.
