Alliance MP Ramush Haradinaj has said that the acting Prime Minister, Albin Kurti, is deliberately delaying the processes of forming institutions. He has proposed Hashim Thaçi for the presidency.
Haradinaj has called it an "honor" of the Assembly legislature to give the presidential mandate to Thaçi. The Special Court on September 16 announced its verdict in the case against four former KLA leaders, Hashim Thaçi, Kadri Veseli, Jakup Krasniqi and Rexhep Selimi.
"If Kurti's regime wants a solution, it is in the honor of this legislature but also of every legislature that we continue the mandate of President Thaçi, his mandate was taken away by a legal intervention and with his return it is our honor as a nation, not because of any political proximity, but because of a response from the enemies of Kosovo who never sleep, that we continue his mandate. There are also x other options, do not hold Kosovo hostage," Haradinaj declared.
Haradinaj criticized the Vetëvendosje Movement for not calling a constitutive session, while emphasizing that the egg-throwing by MP Time Kadrijaj at Kurti occurred because no candidate for speaker of parliament was being proposed.
"He has installed himself above the Constitution, above the institutions, above every constitutional and legal obligation. Not calling the session with the excuse that if there is no agreement, violence will occur during the session is just an alibi. The violence happened, the egg throwing at Kurti, not because he called the session but because he is not running for the Speaker of the Parliament, which is his duty," Haradinaj told the media.

The Democratic Party of Kosovo has also expressed support for a new mandate for the former president.
"We expect that on September 16, he and the liberators will come free and we will welcome them all. Therefore, it is a good opportunity, even if not, for all political forces to provide support for President Thaçi to continue the work where he left off," said PDK MP Arian Tahiri on August 21 during a press conference.
