"Salaries in the public sector will increase by 50 percent for civil servants, doctors, nurses, teachers, professors, firefighters, soldiers, policemen and all those who receive salaries from the state budget. In contrast, for positions with high salaries and political appointments, the increase will be 30 percent", said the PDK prime minister candidate.
The candidate for prime minister from the ranks of the Democratic Party (PDK), Bedri Hamza, promised on Saturday a significant increase in salaries in the public sector, as well as pensions.
He made the oath at the central convention of this party, in which Hamza was promoted to prime minister, and the slogan for the February 9 elections was presented.
"Salaries in the public sector will increase by 50 percent for civil servants, doctors, nurses, teachers, professors, firefighters, soldiers, policemen and all those who receive salaries from the state budget. In contrast, for positions with high salaries and political appointments, the increase will be 30 percent," said Hamza, at the event organized at the Youth Palace. "Regarding pensions, in my government there will be no pension lower than 200 euros. Meanwhile, contributory pensions will increase by 30 percent, based on work experience".
Among Hamza's promises is a subsidy of 100 euros per month for families who cannot enroll their children in public daycare centers and enroll them in private daycare centers.
He said that he also has a plan to support the elderly. He promised to establish centers in each region, for the care of the elderly.
Hamza also published the election slogan, which will be: "Kosova can do better".
"We are here to prove this", he said. "Meanwhile, I, as prime minister, assure you that I will do this".
And, when he was served with this slogan, the chairman of the PDK, Memli Krasniqi, said that with the governance of Hamza, from economy to infrastructure, from education to health, from security to diplomacy, in each field, the vision of the PDK it is clear: better.
"To achieve this, each of us must start the change from ourselves. As the chairman of the Democratic Party of Kosovo, I decided to be the first to make this change. Therefore, with full conviction I have nominated Bedri Hamza as a candidate for Prime Minister. I did this for many reasons, but I will tell you one that sums it all up: I am convinced that Bedri Hamza is the best prime minister that Kosovo can have today. We must make Kosovo better", said Krasniqi. "As someone who has worked with Bedri for a long time and knows him well, I assure you that in Bedri, Kosovo will not find just a prime minister, but a man determined to make our country stronger, prouder and more good".
Krasniqi dedicated a part of his speech to the two former chairmen of the PDK, Hashim Thaçin and Kadri Veselin, who are in The Hague, facing charges of war crimes.
At the convention, a video was broadcast that describes not only their journey, but also the successes of Kosovo during the governance of the PDK.
