Haliti: The internationals are using the measures as leverage to force Kosovo to accept something

Enver Haliti

The MP of Vetëvendosje, Enver Haliti, has said that the internationals are using the measures against Kosovo as a "lever" for conditioning.

He stated that it is illogical that the measures of the European Union against Kosovo are still in force when it has been recommended to remove them.

"The sanctions were unfair. They were inappropriate and illogical. Until the special representative for politics and security issued a recommendation for the lifting of the measures, we still do not have a decision. The international partners, the EU countries, are using these levers to force countries like Kosovo to accept something by keeping the measures that have no logic why those measures are in force today".

Bajra: There is a lack of communication, no one knows why we still have EU sanctions, we have huge losses

Professor Ujkan Bajra said that no one knows why Kosovo still continues to be sanctioned by the European Union.

On Wednesday in KTV's "Konfront", Bajra said that the public does not know because there is a lack of communication from the Government.

However, according to him, due to these sanctions the country has great losses in the field of economy.
"Why are we still under the sanctions of the European Union? Communication and dissemination of information, communication with the public is the problem. We need to know why we still have these sanctions, why they continue, are we the only ones who meet all the requirements and criteria? Today, the Government approved a program that appears to be for 2020, which is expected to benefit Kosovo with 900 million euros. We have capital projects that have stalled, remained unrealized due to these sanctions. We do not know what actions Kosovo is taking to remove these measures. But, the economy is at a loss in this case", he said.

Demaku says that the crisis could have been avoided: Why did it have to wait for the same offer in CEFTA

The panelist in the show "Konfront" on KTV, Dafina Demaku, said that the Government should not have allowed the pressure of Germany to increase so much, if it had known that it would accept to change the security measure for Serbian goods, in so that they were allowed to enter Kosovo.

"The question is, if you know that you will release pe in the end in the face of a request that you have more or less given no signs that you will release pe, why are you waiting so long..." Parallel to Germany's threat of exclusion from the Process of There was also an offer to Berlin that we would not be excluded from the Berlin Process, an offer that we have now accepted, so we are facing pressure that has been quite long, especially in the last month, which has come directly from Germany. even this offer that we accepted was the same, so it was to allow Serbian goods to enter Kosovo", said Demaku.

She said that there was a coordination of actions by the Government, when on the same day that the decision to allow Serbian goods was made, the decision to increase pensions by 20 percent was also made.

"Usually when these types of concessions are made, it has always happened that some money has come out and been distributed, even in the past, to avoid the focus from an issue that has been very controversial", stated Demaku.

Sopi: CEFTA was created after the fall of Yugoslavia to return the market to Serbia

KTV's "Konfront" columnist, Agim Sopi, has stated that CEFTA was created after the fall of Yugoslavia with the aim of returning the market to Serbia.

Sopi said that there is no doubt that CEFTA is a political instrument.

"There is no doubt that CEFTA is a political instrument, it was created after the wars in the former Yugoslavia as a favor, as a caress towards Serbia to ensure the lost market of the separated republics of these southern countries", he said.

Sopi added that "prime minister Albin Kurti's sovereign policy has had this instrument as its main pillar.

"Mr. Kurti's sovereign policy, for my logic, maybe a pillar besides the police control in the north, had this instrument, CEFTAN. All those others are unimportant to me, if the 4 mayors with 80 votes each will enter the municipal buildings, will the license plates of Serbia in Kosovo be postponed for 6 months, will the bridge be opened to go out for coffee , it is very important for Kosovo to create a state with the sign Republic of Kosovo and no goods, and no person from any country that does not recognize the Republic of Kosovo, can enter here", he said.

Haliti: Even after joining CEFTA under the name of Kosovo, Serbia will still be destructive

Kosovo will be represented as a state and no longer by UNMIK in the Central European Free Trade Agreement (CEFTA), from October 9.

The MP of Vetëvendosje, Enver Haliti, has said that despite the fact that Kosovo will be represented by its officials in CEFTA and no longer by UNMIK, Serbia will continue to be destructive.

"Even today after this acceptance of Kosovo as a party to CEFTA, Serbia will still be destructive, Kosovo's producers will still face non-tariff barriers", he said in "Konfront".

Haliti added that Kosovo, through UNMIK, has requested that non-tariff barriers do not exist, but that this has never been respected by Serbia. And, according to him, internationals have not even pressured Serbia.

"Kosovo, through UNMIK, has requested that these barriers do not exist until we have agreements that have been reached in Brussels for the facilitation of trade, the movement of people, etc. However, Serbia has still not respected these and has set impassable barriers for Kosovo's producers. We have often seen that goods from Kosovo have stayed for days in the terminals at the entrance to the territory of Serbia and after a while they were forced to return. It is surprising how much the international insistence towards Kosovo to remove such a measure that is hindering the free movement of goods, when it is the basic principle of the Berlin Process that aims to be a common market of the six Balkan countries . We have not seen pressure on Serbia for these non-tariff barriers that it places on Kosovo's goods".
