Gjini before the Alliance structures: One day, not far off, we will be in power

Ardian Gjini

Gjini made these comments during the unveiling of the political platform and strategy for the development of Kosovo before party structures.

Gjini emphasized that citizens want a more secure future, better opportunities for their children, and an end to the mass emigration of young people.

"It is extraordinary that we should have democracy, as we are the core of this bridge. But, at the same time, we should prepare ourselves because today, we who are in opposition, will one day not far away be in power. We need to prepare ourselves now for politics," he said.

Speaking about citizens' expectations, Gjini mentioned security, higher salaries, better pensions, quality schools and hospitals, infrastructure, a stronger army, and the strengthening of the Kosovo passport.

"What do the people of Kosovo want? What do we want from our country? We want security. Security that means being safe in our country, not only physically, but being safe for our future, for the future of our children. To foresee the future, and to know that that future can bring only good. Only good. We want higher salaries, like everyone else, for all our people. We want higher pensions, we want better schools, we want better hospitals, better roads. We want a stronger army, we want a stronger passport. We want a stop to the mass emigration of our young men and women," he added.

The head of the Alliance has also called for more tolerance and cooperation among citizens, regardless of political beliefs, as well as for respect for the international community.

"We want, we want not to hate each other. To see our fellow citizens as brothers, as sisters, as collaborators, as friends, regardless of our political beliefs, not to see each other as enemies. We want to be respectful and fully accept the international community. I do not believe that, here, what I said, that we love them and the citizens of Kosovo love them, are contradictory. I do not believe that there is a citizen of Kosovo who does not love these things," Gjini said, among other things.

He criticized the current direction of the country, saying that developments in Kosovo are not bringing citizens closer to fulfilling these goals.

"Now, the topic is: What is happening in Kosovo? Are we getting closer to having the best schools, the best hospitals, the best roads, the highest salaries, the highest pensions, or are we moving away? Every time we talk about politics, we can't compare it, we can't make it a promise of the situation we are in. And what is happening today in Kosovo is not bringing Kosovo and its citizens closer to these goals that are sublime, pure, true for every person. Everything that is happening is the opposite," he added.

Gjini also emphasized the importance of entrepreneurship, free initiative, and the protection of employee rights, arguing that without these elements there can be no economic development and improved well-being.
