The American General, Arthur Garffer, has officially assumed the role of Chief of Staff of the KFOR mission.
KFOR announced on Thursday that he succeeds Brigadier General, John Bozhičević, in a ceremony held at the KFOR Headquarters in Pristina, attended by senior officials of the international community.
"It was a privilege to serve in the longest NATO mission in the history of the Atlantic Alliance. "I believe that KFOR will continue to make changes for local and regional security, under the able leadership of Brigadier Arthur Garffer," Bozhičević declared.
The commander of KFOR, Ozkan Ulutas, has thanked Bozhičević for his service, saying that "he was the cornerstone of KFOR's daily activities".
KFOR said it remains committed to continuing the implementation of the mandate in Kosovo, for an environment safe.
