Two bone fragments suspected to be those of war victims have been found in the Rahovec region, near the city cemetery, the Government Commission for Missing Persons has announced.
Following the discovery of these two pieces the day before, the remains of at least one individual were also found on Thursday.
"According to operational plans, excavations began yesterday, where two skeletal remains were found, which were sent for examination to the Institute of Forensic Medicine, while today, mortal remains of at least one individual were found, which may belong to war victims who may be on the list of missing persons. The excavations are being carried out by the Institute of Forensic Medicine, the Sector for the Investigation of Persons Missing During the War - within the Police Directorate for the Investigation of War Crimes and the Government Commission for Missing Persons", the Commission's announcement states.
This location was the last of the excavations planned for this year.
