The Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora, Donika Gërvalla, welcomed at Pristina International Airport "Adem Jashari" the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, who is paying an official visit to Kosovo, where she met with President Vjosa Osmani and Acting Prime Minister Albin Kurti.
In a post on social media on Wednesday, Gërvalla wrote that he was honored to welcome the President of the European Commission, emphasizing the importance of this visit at a time when Kosovo is consolidating reforms and strengthening the rule of law.
"Welcome to the Republic of Kosovo, Ursula von der Leyen. Her visit to Pristina comes at a time when Kosovo is consolidating reforms, strengthening the rule of law and deepening approximation with EU standards," Gërvalla wrote.
She added that Kosovo remains a reliable partner of the European Union, emphasizing the close cooperation with the European Commission in the implementation of the Growth Plan for the Western Balkans, the IPA III program and the gradual access to the European common market.
"We are working closely with the European Commission on the implementation of the Growth Plan for the Western Balkans, the IPA III program and the steps of gradual access to the common market, with measurable results for our citizens, further bringing our European integration closer," the acting minister emphasized.
