Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs, Donika Gërvalla, at the beginning of her speech to the Security Council, said that she wanted to make it clear that "Kosovo and Metohija" does not exist, in response to her Serbian predecessor, Marko Đurić.
She emphasized that Kosovo is following the path towards Euro-Atlantic integration, but that Serbia has a different direction towards Russia.
"Our warning is clear, don't wait too long, don't risk another Balkan war, focusing on the wrong questions, instead of dealing with the real danger."
"There is no Kosovo and Metohija, it does not exist. Kosovo and Metohija is a clear expression of Serbia's hegemonic ambitions towards Kosovo. It is the old language of Milosevic and those who follow him. Kosovo is a democracy of Western patrimony. Support for NATO and the US is 99%. We are the most pro-NATO and pro-US decision in the world. We have been protected from genocide by NATO and the US," she said.
She presented photographs of a mural in Serbia, which she said represents the Serbian threat to Kosovo. Gërvalla emphasized that Kosovo is for dialogue and not the deceptions of Aleksandar Vučić.
"We are not talking about history but the present and in the present Kosovo is a threat to the region. We follow Vučić's propaganda and the hatred that is being spread, poisoning the Serbian population. In Serbia you can see large murals today where it says 'When the army returns to Kosovo'. It does not say 'if' but 'when'. They do not hide their intention. We are in favor of dialogue. "We need a real dialogue and not a deception from Vučić. Whose strategy towards the EU is war up to military aggression."

Gërvalla said that the Serbian president should be stopped by the international community, as "Serbia has proven in 2023 that it is ready for war." She also called for the release of former police officer Arbnor Spahiu, who was arrested by Serbia.

Gërvalla: The case in Banjska was not an incident, but a planned aggression by Serbia
"If there are no consequences, they will escalate further because they have no one to fear. Djuric knows it well, he has no problems with murderers and rapists. He may have a soft voice, but he sat in a cafe after the attack in Banjska with Radojic. Djuric was Vucic's representative for Kosovo for years. He was a partner in crime and corruption."
Gërvalla stated that UNMIK should be closed because it does not serve its purpose.
"UNMIK should be closed. It is a waste of UN money. It serves no purpose. If it left tomorrow, nothing would change in Kosovo. The outcome in the region would decide between Western democracy and autocracy for influence in this part of Europe."
