The Minister of Defense, Ejup Maqedonci, has said that they are on the right track to fulfill the ten-year transition plan of the Kosovo Security Force into a force with military capabilities. According to him, this plan is expected to be achieved in 2028.
According to the Comprehensive Transition Plan, some of the KSF's new responsibilities would include maintaining sovereignty and territorial integrity, providing military support to civilian authorities and participating in international operations.

"Our academy has produced cadets capable of directing not only combat operations but also directing the aspect of general security. Always the arrival of cadets as officers in the Kosovo Security Force is a generation, it gives vitality, new energy and gives new opportunities to the force to develop in the direction of achieving our state objectives. With comprehensive transition plans, we have planned to fulfill this number in 2028, i.e. the number of five thousand active members and three thousand reserve members, but thanks to the continuous support we have had from Prime Minister Kurti and the Government of the Republic of Kosovo, with an additional budget but also with an increase in the budget, we have managed to reach this number already at this stage to exceed four thousand active members and also to supply the force with modern weapons systems which are according to NATO standards. s and which are normally inventory parts of the KSF, to perform its key task, which is the protection of the territory and sovereignty of our country", said Maqedonci.
The minister also spoke about the numerous requests of citizens to join the KSF. He said that serving the country is the most sacred thing.
"There has always been and continues to be interest from citizens, that is, from young people to join the KSF, both in terms of attending academic programs but also in terms of joining as a soldier member of the KSF. My message to young people is to dare to apply to be a KSF cadet, to be an officer. Always serving the country is the most sacred thing that a person can give in relation not only to the country but also to his family and himself", said the minister. /EO
