Focus on central elections, Rama not expected to present cabinet on Tuesday

The inaugural session of the Pristina Municipal Assembly is expected to be held on Tuesday, during which the assembly members will be sworn in, the elected mayor, Përparim Rama, and the election of the chairperson of the Pristina Municipal Assembly will be held.

However, the government cabinet is not expected to be presented at this meeting. 

There has been much talk about a coalition between LDK and PDK, however, PDK assemblyman Leutrim Retkoceri denies having any coalition with LDK. In a statement for KOHA, he added that they will not even have a proposal for the chairman of the Municipal Assembly.

"We do not have a coalition with the LDK. The PDK is dealing with the national elections. As for the Speaker of the Assembly, the PDK does not have any proposal for a candidate for the Assembly."

However, KOHA learns that earlier this week, the elected mayor of Pristina, Përparim Rama, met with the PDK candidate for mayor of Pristina, Uran Ismaili, at a kebab shop on "Rexhep Luci" street.

As KOHA learns, the focus is on the central elections, and only after them can coalitions be formalized or the capital's government cabinet be introduced.

Fehmi Kupina is the name that has been mentioned as possibly leading the Municipal Assembly again.

He himself did not admit such a thing when asked by KOHA, not wanting to comment on whether he has any intentions of taking this position again.

Although they had pre-election support for the LDK, it is not yet known what AAK's stance will be on the formation of the Rama 2 government, as, as KOHA learns, there are divisions within this party. 

Of all the coalitions that the LDK could form, KOHA learns that out of the 15, Director Rama is expected to form 21 to appease coalition partners.

Journalist Uran Haxha says that before the elections, the possible coalitions have already been identified.

According to him, the more coalitions Rama creates, the more directors he will have to give. 

Journalist for Pristina, Mentor Buzhala, says that any official announcement is expected to be made after the national elections.

And on the division of directorates, Bekim Salihu from GAP says that Rama should be liberal towards coalition partners.

"Usually the problem has been which party will take which directorate. There are directorates that are important and there are less important ones. The Directorate for Budget, for Public Services, Infrastructure, so there are some directorates that have more powers. Political entities have these goals. Progress Rama does not dare to appear stubborn about the difference he has in numbers in order to achieve a majority in the Assembly."

And after his success in Pristina, Rama is seen as a figure who can bring votes to the LDK list for the December 28 elections by running for MP.
