The Assembly of Montenegro has not approved an amendment to the Law on public order and peace, which prohibits the use of the Albanian flag.
The proposal for the amendment of the Law was submitted by the Albanian deputy Genci Nimanbegu, but in yesterday's voting this proposal did not receive the majority of votes in the Assembly.
In fact, this Law foresees a fine for the use of any flag other than that of Montenegro, but so far no other case has been recorded, except when it came to the use of the Albanian flag.
The last two cases a few weeks ago were recorded in Ulcin and in Malësi, a citizen in Ulcin was punished because there were two small Albanian flags in his car, while in Malësi because he had placed the Albanian flag in his house his private, malesia.org informed.
Although in the high level meetings between the Albanian and Montenegrin officials we often hear that the Albanians in Montenegro are an example of respect for rights and freedoms, this once again proves the opposite.
