Fadil Fazliu, who is being held in custody on charges of being involved in criminal offenses against the administration of justice and obstructing the proceedings of the Kosovo Specialist Chambers, has requested to be released on bail by offering a bail of 40 thousand euros.
His co-defendant, Isni Kilaj, had offered such a large sum of money a short time earlier.
According to Fazliu's defense, the trial will not begin on December 15 and is unlikely to begin before March 2026, reports "Oath for Justice".
The defense also says that the stage of presenting evidence by the Prosecution and defense in the case of Hashim Thaçi and others for war crimes has been completed and consequently any risk of obstruction has been significantly reduced.
According to the defense, regarding the risk of flight, Fazliu does not hold a political position and does not have an Albanian passport. Therefore, the defense had suggested that as a condition for temporary release, Fazliu should not leave Pristina, surrender all travel documents and provide bail in the amount of 40 thousand euros.
