US envoy Gabriel Escobar and EU special representative Miroslav Lajcak, after the end of the three-day visit to Kosovo, are staying tonight for a visit to Serbia as part of efforts to continue the dialogue process.
On this occasion, they met with the president of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, to whom they conveyed the message that the EU and the US share the same vision for the dialogue process and that their efforts are aimed at reaching a comprehensive agreement.
Escobar and Lajcak expressed their support for the continuation of a constructive dialogue, as well as the integration of the Western Balkans into the EU, stressing that it is essential for both parties to fulfill all obligations.
Lajcak said that the EU and the US work closely together and share the same vision for the dialogue process and the future of the entire region in the EU, adding that their efforts aim to reach a comprehensive agreement and the implementation of all previous agreements signed.
Meanwhile, President Vucic has criticized the Kosovar side "for unilateral provocations and unrealistic expectations from the mediators in the dialogue."
He expressed the belief that only with the responsible efforts of both parties in the dialogue, a compromise solution can be reached, and the common language in the interest of Serbs and Albanians.
