At least about 60 candidates who passed the written exam for notaries are members of political parties, their family members or people connected to the justice system. Out of about 200 names that are waiting to undergo the written test, at least 50 of them are names related to politics and the justice system.
From about 200 names that have passed the written test, about 100 of them, according to the Ministry of Justice, will start working as notaries.
The newspaper "Koha Ditore" from its sources has identified over 60 candidates who are related to politics and the justice system.
Among them are: the wife of the mayor of Drenas, Ramiz Lladrovci, associates of the Minister of Justice, Abelard Tahiri, the wife of the former Minister of Justice, Hajredin Kuçi, the daughter of the former Minister of the KSF, Haki Demolli, the son-in-law of the Minister of Health, Uran Ismaili, judges, children of judges, bailiffs, children of bailiffs, children of notaries, PDK officials, the son of the former president, Fatmir Sejdiu and other names.
The Minister of Justice, Abelard Tahiri, described the competition for notaries as part of the "Justice 2020" reform. It has considered that the process has been led on the basis of meritocracy so far.

"Until now, the process has been guided according to the legal basis that has determined the way of giving the notary's exam, including the appointment of the commission and the definition of the procedures for this purpose. According to Tahir, the only parameters to select someone are those related to the proven competence for which the evaluation committee has reached a conclusion and not affiliation of any kind.
Although there are political names in the published list, Tahiri has denied that this competition is being guided by such a principle.
"Not only is it not our intention, but I believe that under no circumstances politicization and professionalism are not and cannot be related in the case of appointing new notaries. As one of the free legal professions, the notary is a profession that exercises delegated professional power and is clearly defined by the law, therefore it is the exercise of legal authorizations that makes the notary a respected profession and not political influence or connection with politics". he said.
Tahiri has stated that if there are tendencies to compromise this process, he will be the one who will request investigations.
"However, in cases where there is any possible suspicion of any form of abuse that may have occurred, for each circumstance and for each case separately, I will demand a full and uncompromising investigation. The idea behind increasing the number of notaries is to offer services as close as possible to citizens. No one will be able to compromise such a thing", he said.
Through a written answer, he said that there are about 100 vacancies for the position of notary public. There are about 200 candidates in the list of candidates who have passed the written exam.
