The General Director of the Kosovo Police, Gazmend Hoxha, has stated that from 2023, the level of security for handling cases of domestic violence has been raised at the central level, and at the local level, according to him, the number of policemen has been increased.
"Last year we raised the level of the security sector dealing with domestic violence at the central level. At the local level, we have increased the number of policemen in police stations. We are working with the police so that in the event of a reaction, they are as quick as possible so that the cases are handled fairly, realistically and in their own time", he said on Tuesday from the place where the crime took place.
Regarding the case of the murder of the woman in Peja, Hoxha emphasized that the authorities are investigating the case.
"Since 2021, we have had no cases of reported to the police for domestic violence in this family. We are analyzing and if there were any omissions in the work procedure, everyone will be responsible for their own responsibility", the director of the Police said to the media.
