Customs of Morin, unfinished even after two years

The Morin border crossing, the main one that connects Kosovo with Albania, but also the only point in Albania that handles the largest flow of travelers, will not be finished building this summer tourist season either.

The project for the construction of the common customs with Kosovo and the doubling of lanes from six to twelve, with EC funds, was launched in September 2015, but has not yet been completed, Koha Ditore writes today.

The border crossing point Morin-Vermicë has already been identified as the place not only where long queues of cars are created, but also queues of trucks loaded with goods, from Albania to Kosovo and vice versa.

The works that started in March of last year and are still not being completed, the not at all functional project of this customs office, the beginning of the scanning of trucks that send goods to Kosovo, a process that had not been carried out before, the poor performance of the police both countries, but also the increase in the number of trucks as a result of the economic growth of both countries, have caused that at this customs point there are various problems in the movement of people and goods.
