The Serbian witness refutes Church and MUP documents

The witness Stamena Jeliq has confirmed in The Hague that the preliminary statements about her husband's disappearance have been partially changed. She said that there are things that have been added that she did not say in the statements given to the Serbian Orthodox Church and the Ministry of the Interior of Serbia, known as MUP

Stamena Jeliq, whose husband disappeared during the war in Kosovo, testified in the court case in The Hague, in which Hashim Thaçi, Kadri Veseli, Rexhep Selimi and Jakup Krasniqi are accused of war crimes and crimes against humanity. 

She confirmed the preliminary statement, given at the Specialized Prosecutor's Office (ZPS), where she said that on August 9, from her house in Rahovec, three members of the KLA took her husband and since that day she has not seen him again. . 

However, she did not confirm some of the statements given to the Serbian institutions.
She denied a document of the Serbian Orthodox Church, which claims that her family members have given information to this institution and said that the document contains incorrect data.

"First of all, my husband did not disappear in June, but on August 9. As for who told them and what they said, I don't know what this has to do with me and my family members", said the witness Jeliq.

She did not even confirm the authenticity of a document from the Ministry of the Interior of Serbia, which talked about the presence of Hashim Thaçi in Rahovec during the war. "There are many different things written here that I did not tell him. Here it is also said that Hashim Thaçi had come to Rahovec. I did not say this, because it is something I would remember", this witness stated.

Thaci's lawyer, Nina Tavakoli, asked the witness if she knew that the Kosovo institutions have conducted an investigation into the disappearance of her husband, of which Jeliq said she was not informed. 

Lawyer Tavakoli asked her if she had given evidence to EULEX, but the witness said that she only reported the disappearance of her husband and that there was no conversation.
