International relations expert and former ambassador, Sylë Ukshin, has said that the European Union does not call the attack in Banjska aggression, as it does not recognize Kosovo as a state.
Ukshini said in KTV's "Konfront" that according to international law, if you refer to the word aggression, then it is about two internationally recognized states.
"I think it is a bit of careful language installed by internationals and the European Union, because if we call it aggression, then we are talking about two recognized states. And the European Union does not recognize Kosovo as a state, this is a fact", said Ukshini.
Ukshini has said that the ambassadors and diplomats of Kosovo should regularly supply all relevant international institutions on a daily basis.
"I'm taking an example. It was 2018 or 2019 when we applied for membership in Interpol. Our friends and partners gave us in confidence a non-paper sent by Serbia against Kosovo's membership. The nonpaper was accompanied by nearly 20 pages, from first to last all lies. If they do this, we should list all the facts of the state prosecutor's office on a daily basis and distribute them", said Ukshini.
Sopi: Lista Serbe came as a criminal gang, it had to be declared a terrorist organization
Panelist Agim Sopi said that Lista Serbe should have been declared a terrorist organization after the attack in Banjska on September 24 last year where police sergeant Afrim Bunjaku was killed.
Milan Radoicic, who was vice-president of the Serbian List at the time, took responsibility for the attack in Banjska. Radoicic and the other accused are still at large in Serbia.
Sopi said in KTV's "Konfront" that Lista Serbe is a party created by the president of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, to control a part of Kosovo's sovereignty. He said that the political class of Kosovo at that time agreed with the creation of this type of "political-paramilitary" group.
"We had to behave a little differently. Example The Serbian List as such, which has been proven to have been used as an instrument, since it was not a political party fighting for the rights of Serbs in Kosovo but came as a paramilitary group to prepare for the annexation of Kosovo, should have been declared non legal and declared a terrorist organization. The same as Prime Minister Kurti announced the Bridge Guards, the Northern Brigade and similar groups", said Sopi.
Ukshini: Serbia wanted to take advantage of the shift of the West's attention to Ukraine
Sylë Ukshini, researcher of international relations, has said that Serbia wanted to take advantage of the shift in the attention of the international community when it planned the attack in Banjska on September 24.
He emphasized in "Konfront" that the attack in Banjska has both elements of terrorism and elements of military aggression.
"This came 13 years after the start of normalization talks and 6 months after the pompous Ohrid agreement. These showed that Serbia was testing how far the international community would resist because it saw a wavering or shift of attention in Ukraine and wanted to use it," he said.
Ukshini added that the Serbian president considered the victimization of the Serbs as a strategy, but it did not work. Meanwhile, the lack of punishment from the European Union and the United States of America seems strange to him.
"Vučić thought of a long strategy, another one that didn't work, they used this in Croatia and Bosnia - victimization. Two years ago, he victimized the Serbian population to the maximum in order to justify the aggression. I was impressed by the lack of serious punishment from the EU and the US, because this action came at the time when the Brussels process was underway. A serious state cannot talk with a table, and on the other side prepare aggressions".
Deputy Rexhaj says that Serbia will wait for a suitable moment for a new attack
The deputy of Vetëvendosje Movement, Arbër Rexhaj, has said that Serbia is waiting for an appropriate moment to carry out a similar attack as the one in Banjska.
Police sergeant Afrim Bunjaku was killed in the terrorist attack in Banjska on September 24 last year.
"Serbia's mindset is that at an opportune time, through its Russian-Serbian influence, it will try to attack the Republic of Kosovo once again", said Rexhaj on KTV's "Konfront".
He said that it was expected last year that an attack could come.
"We almost expected such a thing. In this sense, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Prime Minister Kurti had worked continuously to open more police stations in the north. At that time, eight stations were opened, the number of special units was increased, waiting for such a case", said Rexhaj.
