Vetëvendosje MP Adnan Rrustemi has called the threatening call against Ramush Haradinaj unacceptable, shortly after Alliance MP Burim Ramadani accused Rrustemi of having connections with the person who threatened Haradinaj.
Rrustemi said that the allegations of family ties with the suspect are "completely unfounded," adding that he only knew him by name, as a former soldier who lived in Obiliq for over 25 years.
"First of all, the language of the person in question towards Ramush Haradinaj is unacceptable and therefore condemnable. That language cannot be justified regardless of who it comes from. The public sphere needs rationality more than ever. Differences in political beliefs cannot slide into threatening and insulting language like this towards Ramush Haradinaj or anyone else," Rrustemi wrote.
Rrustemi has also warned of lawsuits against Ramadan if he does not withdraw the claim of a family connection between him and the suspect.
"I expect MP Burim Ramadani and certain media outlets to immediately retract the defamation, otherwise I will immediately file a lawsuit in this case."
Ramadani had written that Adnan Rrustemi is a relative of the suspect S.Ll. and that Rrustemi had not distanced himself from or condemned the call for murder that the suspect made to Haradinaj. Rrustemi's reaction came a few minutes after Ramadani's post.
