The leader of the Democratic Party of Kosovo, Memli Krasniqi, said that the Constitutional Court's decision has proven that the LVV has held the Assembly hostage by "deliberately and in a planned manner blocking its functioning for narrow government interests."
As he said, the court confirmed that the LVV blockade was unconstitutional and harmful to the state.
"Kosovo cannot move forward with paralyzed institutions and rules violated according to the whims of power. Therefore, let this be a clear lesson for everyone, and especially for those who have never known how to respect the state: Kosovo needs functional institutions and leadership that respects the rules, not that violates them for power. We will always be on the side of the Constitution and the citizens. This decision is a victory for the constitutional order, for the Assembly and for the citizens of the Republic of Kosovo. Those who chose the crisis failed. We who chose the Constitution won," he wrote on Facebook.
And, Democratic Party of Kosovo MP, Blerta Deliu-Kodra, said that the Constitutional Court gave the verdict they were waiting for.
The Constitutional Court has ruled that the deputies of the Assembly of Kosovo must elect the new head of the legislative body through open voting and within 30 days. The announcement published on Friday states that the Constitutional Court has determined that the same candidate can only be voted for up to 3 times and that all deputies must participate in the vote.
"We were right ALL THE TIME: Albin Kurti's government, through Avni Dehari, has violated the Constitution in every session since May 1. They forced a secret ballot and denied us the right to an open vote for the Speaker of the Assembly," Deliu-Kodra wrote on Facebook.

She said that this is a serious institutional failure and a total lack of respect for the law and democracy.
"Kosovo deserves leadership with responsibility and respect for the Constitution, not deliberate and repeated violations!" she wrote.
