The United States of America is making it clear to the Government of Kosovo that it must return to cooperation with its international allies, said the spokesman of the State Department, Matthew Miller, in a conference on Wednesday.
Miller has again expressed the concern of the USA for the "continuous uncoordinated" decisions of the leadership of Kosovo.
He emphasized that the Government of Kosovo is jeopardizing the opportunities that the state has created with the help of the USA on the way to integration.
"We are worried by the continuous uncoordinated decisions of the leadership of Kosovo. We believe that they have jeopardized the opportunities that we have helped Kosovo to create. If you look at events since Kosovo's independence, the US has strongly supported its full integration into the international community as a sovereign multi-ethnic democracy. But, to realize this vision, we have cooperated with successive political leaders of Kosovo in measures that have strengthened peace and prosperity in the country while advancing Kosovo on the Euro-Atlantic path. What we encourage the Government of Kosovo to do is to return to close and constructive cooperation with the USA, the EU and NATO. We have made this clear, we have also made it clear to the Government privately," Miller declared.
On Monday, August 5, the Kosovo Police closed nine facilities of the Post of Serbia in the north, which had been operating illegally. Three facilities have been closed in North Mitrovica and Leposaviq, two in Zveçan, and one in Zubin Potok. The USA and the European Union have called it a unilateral and uncoordinated action by the Kosovo authorities, while it has been warned that this decision may have a negative impact on the removal of measures against Kosovo.
