Sekretarja dhe deputetja e Partisë Demokratike të Kosovës, Vlora Çitaku, i ka reaguar ushtrueses së detyrës së presidentit, Albulena Haxhiu, pasi ajo tha se mendon që me e rëndësishme është zgjedhja e presidentit, sesa votimi i ndryshimit të Ligjit për dhomat e Specializuara.
Në një status në Facebook, Çitaku ka shkruar se “UÇK-ja është mbi çdo temë e çdo prioritet!”
“Prioritetet i përcakton populli. Dhe populli ka 17 ditë në rrugë për një arsye: UÇK-në. Dëgjojeni zërin e tij. Silleni ligjin në Kuvend dhe votojeni pa vonesë! Mos bëni politikë. Merrni, për një herë të vetme, vendime në interes të shtetit! JO NË EMRIN TIM!”, ka shkruar Çitaku në Facebook.
The Democratic Party, as the second largest in Parliament, has said that it is now ready to discuss the presidency, on the condition that the amendment to the Law on the Special Court is approved in the Assembly.
The PDK has requested that the Parliament amend the Law on the Special Court, limiting its mandate, after the sentencing of Hashim Thaçi and Jakup Krasniqi to 25 years in prison each, Kadri Veseli to 18 and Rexhep Selim to 13. They were convicted of war crimes. Through the legal changes in the Democratic Party, they aim to limit the mandate of the Special Court to dealing with the crimes alleged in the Dick Marty report, as well as to establish international monitoring of its work. Meanwhile, for the war crimes, for which the four former KLA leaders were convicted, the proposed draft law foresees that they be tried in Kosovo.
