Xelal Çelaj, an economist by profession, has narrated his experience after being infected with the coronavirus.
He said that he lost his 19-year-old mother and 81-year-old brother to COVID-51.
Personally, he says that he had no symptoms from the coronavirus, until he says that he stayed with his mother in the hospital in Prizren for two weeks.
"After the tests we did, the mother came out positive, then she was treated at the Pulmonology Clinic until her last moment. She was initially treated in Pediatrics, but after the lung attack, she was transferred to the Pulmonology department. By thanking the family members who are abroad, we have managed with expenses. Both mother and brother were infected with the coronavirus, which then spread to the lungs. They have been continuously on oxygen therapy. Three days after the brother's death, the mother died," he said.
Çelaj said that the services were below average in the Prizren hospital.

He said that his brother died because of the lack of services. According to him, he died due to technical reasons.
"The technicians did not have spare oxygen to place them, they had to go out to other rooms to search. The attending doctors arrived late. During the transport to the intensive ward, his card was not processed in the elevator, until they got out, the brother was without signs of life", he said, adding that they also gave statements to the police regarding the case.
He confesses that his brother later tested negative for the coronavirus, but was again treated with therapy for COVID-19.
Çelaj says that an autopsy was also done for the same one.
"The brother died in front of the mother, even before we sent him to the other department, he had pointed out that we should not send him. Meanwhile, the mother has not been conscious in the last two or three days", he said.
He further added that there are doctors and professional technicians who do their work honestly, but he says that the situation in Prizren Hospital leaves much to be desired.
Çelaj said that no one should underestimate the situation with COVID-19.
