Eugen Cakolli from the Democratic Institute of Kosovo has called what the Kosovo Assembly has been doing since April 15 a mockery of the citizens of Kosovo.
On Sunday, today, the Parliament failed to be constituted for the seventh time. The impasse remains with the Vetëvendosje Movement's proposal, Albulena Haxhiu, for Speaker of Parliament. She is consistently receiving only 57 votes.
"The Assembly continues to make a mockery, not only of itself, but also of the citizens. Even today, on a Sunday, another session for five minutes of "work" - without any real change. With most MPs being late without any sense of urgency, because they have neither the rush nor the will to resolve the impasse. In this absurd cycle, everyone knows that the public is tired of political irresponsibility. Therefore, when there is truly a will for an agreement, it will not happen by chance in the hall nor unexpectedly on the day of the session," Cakolli wrote on Facebook.
According to him, a possible agreement would be seen through new statements and a changed narrative, especially from the Vetëvendosje Movement.
"Until then, the theatrical performance continues. With the same actors, the same roles and a familiar ending. Unfortunately, also with spectators still expecting a different ending – from the same cast and the same script," he added.
