The President of Albania, Bajram Begaj, was awarded the title of "Honorary Citizen" by the Municipality of Deçan on Sunday.
After accepting this award, Begaj thanked the municipality for this award, adding that the country of Kosovo and Albania are together in Europe.
"The impressions and emotions of this day are extraordinary. Many thanks for the hospitality. I came to Bjeshke and Nemuna, the place blessed by God. I am in a place where I have found brave and patriotic men, people of faith and of their word. Fate has sent us on different paths, but its determination is the same, we will all be in Europe together, with a free and independent Kosovo. For this, Deçani fired the first rifles of the KLA, on this 25th anniversary of the liberation, we remember all the martyrs and the fallen with respect and pride. From today I am very honored to be an 'Honorary Citizen' of this municipality", he said.
In this solemn session there were also deputies from the ranks of the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo, such as Ramush Haradinaj, Besnik Tahiri, Time Kadrijaj and Pal Lekaj.
Begaj paid tribute at the Martyrs' Memorial Complex in Gllogjan

The President of Albania, Bajram Begaj, visited Kosovo on Sunday, where he paid tribute to the Martyrs' Memorial Complex in Gllogjan. The Municipality of Deçan has honored President Begaj with the title "Honorary Citizen of Deçan".
Begaj highly appreciated all the sacrifice and blood shed by the martyrs for freedom in Kosovo. He added that freedom must be protected at all costs.
"It is a pleasure to be here in Deçan, in this holy place to continue our celebrations for the 25th anniversary of the Liberation of Kosovo. We are here to appreciate all the sacrifice, all the blood shed to reach this day of freedom that is extraordinary for us and for the Albanians. Therefore, we must protect it at all costs", he emphasized.
The Chairman of the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK), Ramush Haradinaj, while welcoming President Begaj, has emphasized that in the Martyrs' Memorial Complex in Gllogjan there are heroes who contributed to the liberation of the country.
"In our most beautiful days, the President of Albania with the first lady, His Excellency, General Bajram Begaj visited Gllogjani, Deçan once more, i.e. Kosovo. I am honored to stand before you, President Begaj, in this place where good warriors, good Albanians, good heroes rest and rest. I am convinced that they are happy that we are together today", said Haradinaj. /KSP
